Banner rules:
  1. The area of your banners combined must not exceed 50,000 pixels (Area = width x height)

  2. Whatever dimension combo you choose:
    Width must be equal to or less than 400 pixels
    Height must be equal to or less than 150 pixels
    (Note: You can't have a banner that is 400x150 because the area will equal 60,000 which exceeds the 50,000 limit. And you can't be stupid and have a banner like 900x10 because that breaks the 400 width rule)

  3. Any width/height combos are allowed, as long as they follow rules 1 and 2 above.
    Just kind of eyeball the samples below, and get yours in that range.

  4. Please consider our dial-up members and not make your banners too big in KB.

  5. If you're unsure whether your banner breaks the rule or not,
    show it to a Moderator first so you don't get in trouble.

Why we have this rule:
  • We don't want the forums to be too image intensive where
    it takes too long to load for users on slow connections.

  • The main purpose of a forum is to engage in meaningful discussions,
    not look at big and pretty banners, they are sometimes very distracting.

  • Big banners get annoying when you have to scroll through
    them just to read a few lines of text from the post.

Examples of acceptable banner dimensions:

You can have one 300 x 150 banner

300 x 150
Area = 45,000

You can have one 400 x 100 banner
400 x 100
Area = 40,000

You can have 2 300 x 80 banners
300 x 80
Area = 24,000

300 x 80
