most of the article talks about wu zongxian's upcoming concert in singapore but it touches a bit on jay....
************************************************** **
Introducing [Ho Yeow Sun, his guest star], the sharp-as-a-knife Jacky asked:"Eh, have you memorised Wu Ding (Rooftop, Jacky's duet with Landy Wen) or not?"
As she giggled, he went on about how Wu Ding was an unexpected hit written by his protege, Jay Chou, who later did an R&B version of the song.
"When Jay first sang it for me, I scolded him!" said Jacky. "I said,'Did you write this for a ghost to sing or what?' But I had to use his song, or else he'd get no salary. Who would have expected him to do it in R&B and make it so popular here? So I will challenge Jay, and you (turning to Yeow Sun) challenge Landy. Let's show him we can all sing R&B. It's just that we don't want to!"
A reporter asked Jacky if Jay would pop by to support Jacky's concert here on April 19.
"I didn't invite him. He's so busy doing his own album I didn't even ask him to pen songs for me," he said.
"You know, what a mentor does is to encourage the star when he is down, and when the star is standing on the top of the world, we have to fade away quietly," he added in such dramatic tones that we had to laugh.
But asked if Jay would still pop by since he is siad to be travelling to neighbouring Bali for a gig after Jacky's show here, Jacky chuckled:"If that is so, can we up the prices of my concert tickets? Then I can sing 15 songs and Jay can sing the other 15!"
************************************************** ***
hmmm...seems to me jay won't be performing at the concert despite earlier hints by jacky at tao zi's show. but who knows? he may really pop in.

o it's realli sad that jay may not be coming for jacky's concert after all.. was hoping to catch him in SG.. niwae jacky dunno how to appreciate jay's wu ding! that was such a nice song! first time i heard it i immediately d/l it! ha~ i think the way jacky sings is quite exaggerated.. like how he pronounces his words.. i didnt like the original jacky-landy version of wu ding.. wonder if the reports abt both of them's relationship turning sour is true anot.. but i'm sure if jacky asks jay to pen songs for him jay would oblige..

I loved what Jacky said about being a mentor. I thinks that that's what a good mentor is supposed to. I totally agree with him!! And I also liked how petheads translated "ghost" that was cool!!!
